BOYS BASKETBALL Attention all boys interested in trying out for Boys Basketball this year: There will be an informational meeting regarding open gyms this fall and tryouts in November on WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 19th at 12:35 pm in the Hawk Gym. If you can't make it or have any questions contact Coach Holmquist.
SPEECH AND DEBATE For anyone interested in joining speech and debate this year, including those involved in other fall sports and activities, remember that event lunches are happening this week and until the season ends. If you already know which event you want to do, or if you want to know more about the events and the people who do them, feel free to stop by. Interpretation event lunch is Monday in N224 with Ms. Michael. Policy debate is Tuesday in N228 with Mr. Thane. Speech lunch is Tuesday in N124 with Ms. Holsinger. LD Debate is Wednesday in N228 with Mr. Thane. If you missed where to go, stop by N228 and Mr.Thane will tell you. After school practices start Oct. 1.
BUDDY WALK Do you have a friend or classmate who has Down Syndrome? Do you want to show your support and respect for them? If so, then consider coming to the Buddy Walk this Saturday. The one-mile walk takes place at the Dinosaur playground and you can register at 10:30. There will be a DJ and lunch is provided.
RUN, LOCK FIGHT TRAINING ATTENTION STUDENTS: There is an excellent opportunity coming your way. Our school district’s School Resource Officers will be offering a Run Lock Fight school safety training for students during the month of September. You are welcome to sign up for this unique opportunity which will be held during lunch on Sept. 25th & 27th. Applications are in the main office. Parental permission is required. Applications are due back to the main office by September 24th.
GERMAN CLUB The first meeting of German Club will be this Wednesday during lunch in B6. We'll be planning our fall activities and nominating officers. Come and get your pretzel!
MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2018 JOIN MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2018. At Model UN conferences, students "represent" countries on UN committees such as the General Assembly and Security Council. Students learn about other countries, debate international issues, and develop research, writing, public speaking, and negotiation skills. There will be an informational meeting next Wednesday and Thursday for interested students. Come either day to find out more in room N149 during lunch.
NATIVE AMERICAN CLUB Native American Club Meeting today at lunch in room N-239. Food will be provided.

HUMAN RIGHTS CLUB Friday, September 21st is the international Day of Peace and the BHS Human Rights Club wants your help to make it a day of action with the Peace Day Challenge. Challenge yourself to do something that will make our world more peaceful. --Smile at someone you don't know ... --Speak up when you see someone being intolerant ... --Make plans with friends to support the Partners Club "Buddy Walk" on Saturday. ...Then challenge others to do the same. Lets work together to make this Friday, September 21st, more peaceful. Fight for human rights .. and peace out BHS!
DECA "There is a DECA meeting at lunch today in N202. Anyone in the club or interested in DECA is encouraged to come.
